working definition…A holy rascal is a person who transcends religious exclusivity to explore an emerging spiritual consciousness.

You know how people who start a business post their first dollar?  Well today, March 16th we have the  first registrant for the Holy Rascals social network.  We are officially launched.  exciting.  Yesterday I attended the interfaith service organized by NW Interfaith Alliance, and spoke to the coordinator, Lynn Hanson, about what we are doing, and she asked me if I want to lead a discussion during the summer, a time that they slow down and of course I said yes.  baby steps. The wisdom Keepers Proejct is taking a new tack.  We are launching a social network for holy rascals.

WHAT IS OUR VISION: Trimtabing the spiritual consciousness of humanity. Holy Rascals are deeply spiritual, often deeply religious, women and men whose lives tear open the boxes in which people’s sense of the sacred are locked. Our task is to spread the word of these Holy Rascals and invite others to free themselves by cultivating their own holy rascality.

WHAT IS OUR MISSION: To reach as many people as possible with the message of Holy Rascal.

WHAT IS OUR MEANS: We operate on several levels.

1.  we post short 3 to 5 minute videos featuring various Holy Rascals on youtube.com.

2.   we have a simple website articulating the philosophy of Holy Rascals,

3.  The website invites people to participate in on-line and in-person Holy Rascal Salons.

4.  We develop materials to facilitate discussions about inter-spirituality .  In-person salons are hosted locally by facilitators using our material. The salon material consists of a DVD with a number of the  youtube videos on it, conversation prompts for each video to get the conversation started and keep it moving, and a leaders guide to help the facilitator create and manage a successful salon. We envision salons taking place in high school and college classrooms, Sunday schools, community centers, churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, etc.

We will be filming in Boulder, July 24 and 25 2008. We’re going to interview Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi and Joan Borysenko.
