WAY OF THE WISDOMKEEPERS

OVERTURES OF EL

ISLANDS OF LIGHT COLLECTIVE

THE NEW EARTH

Our planet’s ancestral Wisdomkeepers have maintained Earth and Star knowledge since time immemorial. They have knowingly waited for this period of increased global awareness to convey ancient wisdom and help shepherd our collective future.

The Wisdomkeepers Project is a cooperative undertaking dedicated to providing supportive environments for individuals and organizations to gain firsthand exposure to conscious lifeways, heart-based intelligence and interdependent collaboration.

Inspiration, Opportunity and Community.

As a collaborative, transparent organization we focus on creating translation points to bridge mystical understanding and practical application. Heaven and Earth. Project offerings encourage harmony, nurture self-awareness and support self-realization beyond separation based paradigms.

Way of the Wisdomkeepers programs, Islands of Light Collective and Conscious Media production.

Humanity's own capacity to operate with loving presence, acceptance, trust, receptivity and unconditional right relationship creates the New Earth. The Wisdomkeepers Project and the Andean Holy Mountain Tradition have come together to offer you an experience of heart centeredness, a cinematic transmission of Light and Sound across the ages–

Wisdomkeepers, Paqo Andino is an inspirational film conveying the heart-based intelligence and celestially integrated lifeways of the Andean Holy Mountain Tradition. Recorded on location in the Peruvian highlands, this intimate documentary takes viewers on a journey into the heart of an ancient eco-spiritual lineage to experience the practical and mystical lifeways that have sustained one of this planet’s few unbroken wisdom traditions. It operates as an ambassador of animistic consciousness and establishes a harmonic for the Wisdomkeepers Project.

The film's non-narrated format provides an unmediated experience of the Andean maestro’s daily life and their active relationship with the conscious life force inherent within all aspects of the Natural World. Viewers receive universally applicable insights into a way of being based on loving kindness, unconditional reciprocity, equanimity, sustainability and the sanctity of daily life– foundations of what is known as the Living Peace.

The Andean Holy Mountain Tradition has come forward to share holistic wisdom at a time when many find themselves out of balance and searching for deeper means of connection and renewal. The film Wisdomkeepers, Paqo Andino operates as a transmission to help awaken aspects of our eternal self and offer spiritual insight so people of all ages can better understand their place and responsibility within the greater Whole.

MASTERS OF THE LIVING ENERGY

Andean Paqos comprise an ancient lineage of wisdomkeepers that embody animistic consciousness. They are recognized as masters of the Living Energy and practitioners of celestially-integrated ways of life. Spanish chroniclers called them by two terms, Pampamisayoq (Pampa•me•sigh•yoke), meaning one who facilitates earth-based matters, and Altomisayoq (Alto•me•sign•yoke), one who attends to both the terrestrial and celestial realms.

Paqos cultivate heart wisdom as a way of life. This emotional and spiritual intelligence is complemented by experiential and ancestral knowledge to maintain balance between heaven and earth– mind and womb. Paqos operate at the level of collective conscious and occupy a way of life that has never been separate from Source. They are in essence stewards of consciousness and keepers of sacred cosmological knowledge.

In the 1530's, due to their knowledge and relations with the Inkans, Andean Paqos found it necessary to take refuge in remote, high altitude locations to safeguard their lifeways from Conquest and Inquisition forces. They persevered in seclusion for more than four hundred years.

In the 1950's anthropologists discovered Paqos attending to the needs of workers at Peruvian haciendas. Subsequent decades brought increased contact, modern convenience and ideological safety which led more and more Paqos to live and work among larger communities. The past two decades have seen Paqos disseminating Andean wisdom to western peoples via educational conferences and experiential retreats. These cosmological exchanges have helped fulfill the Paqo's ancestral prophecy which states that humankind will come into balance when the eagle (mental intelligence) and the condor (emotional wisdom) fly together again.

Currently there are only a handful of Paqos maintaining the tradition's higher levels due to disruptive influences, mentorship die-off and few apprentices willing to undertake the rigors of this path. To address this transitional period, Andean Paqos and the Apus, the tradition's over-lighting spirit benefactors, have begun recognizing and initiating western-born practitioners to help reweave holistic consciousness, restore cognitive lifeways and promote spiritual responsibility among industrialized cultures.

As with other wisdom holders, the Andean Holy Mountain Tradition has come forward at this time to help humanity remember its Origins, choose Truth over power and reconnect to that which has always been realized within.

"The findings of modern physics and the principles of perennial wisdom traditions are converging. And the spiritual values associated with these wisdom traditions are being validated by science as beneficial to both individuals and society in general."

Bringing the Film to Life

BRIDGING WORLDS

In 2008 Jeffrey Wium received inspiration for Wisdomkeepers, Paqo Andino during a pilgrimage in the Andes. He shares his experience of birthing the film:

"In 2002 I injured myself while filming a television series. This 'accident' led me into the realms of holistic healing where I discovered that I needed to fully integrate my physical, mental and emotional bodies and develop more cohesive life practices in order to experience deeper states of harmony and well being.

My focus turned to education and certification in a variety of healing modalities, including Andean energy medicine. During my studies I noticed a natural resonance with the maestros of the Holy Mountain Tradition. I was called and initiated into the lineage in early 2007.

The vision for the film came in August 2008 while I was on pilgrimage in the Peruvian Andes. After the trip I shared my experience with a close friend who unexpectedly offered production funding and philanthropic resources on the spot. I realized then that my worlds were about to merge and began gathering my 'hats' without knowing that I would have to release all of my ideas and identifications in order to complete what was being asked of me. I would learn, and not always the easy way, that letting go is simply a mental-emotional contraction prior to birth.

Accessing and recording the secretive lifeways of the Andean Holy Mountain Tradition required cultural sensitivity and environmental invisibility. To meet the film's cosmological and technical needs the Ancient Ones asked me to work solo, combining all of my experience as a Paqo and producer-director-cameraman to create an offering from within the tradition.

Following principle photography I allocated time to wind down teaching and client responsibilities, relocate my family and bring in my second child. This period provided space for reflection and integration. It also helped me to learn not to get in the way of how the film wanted to present Itself.

Editing took fourteen months to complete. It was a somewhat unorthodox approach executed in a single pass from beginning to end relying on the energetics of the prayers and the rhythms of the native Quechua language. When the Spanish and English translations were completed, I set about clarifying the dialogue to make it more accessible to western audiences and generated subtitles. After sitting with the film for several weeks I made a secondary edit to decrease the overall run time and began final mastering.

The project's inspiration and production has been one of deep trust, receptivity, inter-cultural and inter-dimensional integration into an ancient way of being– a personal and professional paradigm rooted in our natural, unified state of consciousness and "ayni”, unconditional right relationship. This legacy project has Directors beyond myself and I am grateful for their collaboration and unconditional support. I am deeply appreciative of my Andean colleagues and all of the individuals and organizations who have helped realize this film. I also give thanks to our collective Ancestors who's wisdom and foresight set this all in motion so long ago."

FILMMAKER BIO

Raised in Northern California, Jeffrey's work, studies and spiritual explorations have offered firsthand experience within varying systems, ideologies and perceptual realities.

In 1995, after ten years of intensive production schedules, location travel and living in metropolitan centers, Jeffrey moved to quieter environs to nurture a path of inner study. He completed Qigong certifications in Oregon and China, sought deeper understanding in Tibet, Nepal and India and received the Avaloketesvara initiation from the Dalai Lama.

Jeffrey went on to train and work with Usui-Tibetan-Sai Baba reiki, Hawaiian lomilomi, psychosomatic bodywork, meditation, yoga, sound healing, bio-integrated design, quantum geometry, wilderness living skills, nondenominational ministry and indigenous philosophy, healing and vision quest protocols.

Jeffrey began his education in Andean energy medicine in 2004 with academic programs and research expeditions as well as traditional apprenticeships in the Peruvian highlands. He has been working as a celestial Paqo since January 2007.

Wisdomkeepers, Paqo Andino has been created as a means to experience ancient eco-spiritual ways of life, help recall animistic consciousness and foster personal and collective well-being.

Jeffrey offers integrative programs, consultation and health-centered retreats based on conscious living principles and experiential learning.
